🎄 Connecting Christmas Spirits 🎄

This December, we’re changing from build packs to gift packages as Spectrum launches our annual Secret Santa gift exchange. This year, we will be delivering the festive cheer across all departments, strengthening the human bandwidth behind the technology. Although the network runs on fibre, our culture runs on kindness and creativity.

Likewise to our network, this tradition thrives from connection, collaboration and a hint of mystery!

A cinematic tribute to Strength & Spirit

Spectrum Comms is proud to stand alongside Rob Burrow and his incredible fight against Motor Neurone Disease (MND). As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting inspiring causes and communities, we’re honoured to sponsor a special event at Everyman Cinema dedicated to Rob’s story, courage, and legacy.

Rob’s determination, positivity, and unwavering spirit continue to inspire people across the nation — reminding us what true strength looks like, both on and off the field. By joining this event, we’re not only celebrating Rob’s journey but also helping raise awareness and support for those affected by MND.

Together, we can help make a difference — one connection, one story, and one act of support at a time.

Mobilising Rapid Response

Storm Amy caused widespread disruption to telecommunications services due to significant power outages and physical damage to infrastructure. Thousands of properties in the UK and Ireland temporarily lost connectivity as fallen trees and severe winds impacted both overhead and underground fibre routes. In Northern Ireland alone, network operators recorded around 1,000 customer-reported fibre faults and more than 100 instances of damage linked directly to the storm’s impact. Don’t be a part of them statistics, get in touch with Spectrum Comms Solutions LTD and we will have your network fixed, ready and reliable in no time! Our priority is to ensure your service is fully restored without delay even during a storm like this.

Finally, it has arrived!

What is a moleplough?

In telecommunications, a subduct mole plough is a trenchless installation method designed to efficiently bury protective subducts that will later house fibre-optic or communications cables. The equipment uses a robust plough blade, typically attached to a tracked vehicle or tractor, to slice through the ground at a specified depth while simultaneously feeding the subduct into the created channel. This single-pass technique significantly reduces surface disturbance, eliminating the need for traditional excavation, spoil handling and extensive reinstatement. Subduct mole ploughing is particularly suited to rural or semi-rural environments such as grassed verges and open ground, where long duct routes are required. To ensure safe and compliant delivery, the process must incorporate detailed planning of alignment and depth, utility surveys to avoid existing buried services, and appropriate reinstatement measures to maintain land conditions and protect the infrastructure.
